Roland debuts VersaUV LEF2-200 UV flatbed printer
March 7, 2019 By PrintAction Staff
Roland DGA Corporation has launched the VersaUV LEF2-200 20-inch benchtop UV flatbed printer for full-colour graphics and textures, including finishes such as simulated embossing, on a range of materials and objects up to 3.94 inches thick.
In addition, the LEF2-200 boasts improvements that make decorating everything from smartphone covers and plaques to giftware and personalized products easier than ever.
A Start Timer Function completes printhead cleaning setup and White ink circulation automatically by the user’s designated start time, while a positioning jig is designed to make it easy to align items on the print table. Roland explains the LEF2-200 adopts a new cleaning system that aims to maximize printer reliability and reduce ink consumption during maintenance procedures. A Head Refresher Feature removes any ink remaining on the printheads and cleans the printhead surface to help prolong the health of the printer. The LEF2-200 is also equipped with an airtight cover that prevents dust from settling onto the surface of materials while printing.
Also included is the VersaWorks 6 RIP software, which features a new Harlequin dual core engine designed for faster previewing times and improved handling of PDF and EPS files with drop-shadows and transparencies. The software also lets LEF2 users automatically generate a White, Gloss or Primer layer directly in the RIP for textural and dimensional effects.
