Kao Collins presents XBAR print module and controller

Scheduled to debut at Print 18, Kao Collins is launching the XBAR print module and controller. Utilizing Samba technology to produce high-quality images, the system can suitable for use on everything from porous bond to high-gloss coated stock at speeds up to 1000 fpm (300 mpm), says Kao Collins.

The system can also be configured to print on other substrates like foils. With a wide variety of available ink types, the Kao Collins XBAR is designed for high-speed, high-volume, single-pass applications. The Kao Collins XBAR controller, the company explains, allows customers to integrate multiple printhead technologies on a single platform, eliminating the need for multiple controllers dedicated to different printhead types. In addition, the system can be upgraded to drive future printheads, extending the useful life of existing equipment while providing an upgrade path into the future.
