OneVision releases software version 20.1
June 5, 2020 By PrintAction Staff
OneVision has launched the new 20.1 version of its software, which allows print service providers to create a customized, dynamic file workflow and automate the preparation of print data.
The company has tailored this new software version to the specific needs of print service providers by adding fully automated workflows with an option for manual intervention to ensure handling and control flexibility.
The new software version introduces a new overview of the file workflow with production ‘live ticker’, which provides the ability to view the status of jobs in production with the exact progress of the file within the assembly line or which module is currently processing the print data.
The software can route and prioritize print jobs based on parameters including delivery date, substrate or colour, enabling print service providers to keep their timelines for express and overnight print jobs and save margins with automation.
The update of the Asura pre-press suite focuses on Variable Data Printing (VDP) and setting cutting and die-cutting lines automatically. It now offers a variety of new applications as extending the ‘Generate Bleed’ functionality, cut lines are now intelligently created inside and outside of intersecting cut lines.
OneVision’s development team has extended the functionality of its VDP with an option for service contract customers to download a VDP template editor free of charge, allowing job parameters and external data to create variable data files.
OneVision’s ‘Inksaving’ feature has also been updated. Depending on the selected ICC profile and the maximum amount of ink applied, this function now automatically reduces the maximum value for primary colours, enabling ink savings in book and transactional printing as well.
