Printing United on track for October event
June 3, 2020 By PrintAction Staff
Printing United Expo says it is on track to run from October 21-23, 2020 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga. as planned.
Printing United Alliance (PUA), which is the organizer of the Expo, says it continues to be committed to helping the industry navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. According to PUA, the annual showcase will, “give attendees and exhibitors the opportunity to engage and see the latest industry technology, experience worldwide product debuts and participate in educational programming that will equip companies with the latest statistics and powerful resources for 2021 and beyond.”
“The support and desire from the industry to come together again after such an unanticipated interruption in business this year has been overwhelming,” said Mark J. Subers, president of Printing United. “We have and will continue to survey our past constituents on their interest and ability to be at the show and are preparing accordingly.”
The event will bring together the industry under one roof while viewing products and technology that vendors and OEMs have been waiting to launch. Special education sessions have also been added from analysts and consultants to help put reopening companies on the right track for planning next year.
The team has been closely monitoring COVID-19 developments and is working closely with the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA), local and state authorities and the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security specializing in mass gatherings, on all decisions and guidelines relating to the health and safety of staff, attendees and exhibitors.
The GWCCA has developed a comprehensive business return plan to accommodate safety guidelines amid COVID-19, including social distancing protocols throughout the event space; touchless services ranging from parking to registration, food and beverage; enhanced signage for communication for social distancing and hygiene guidelines; temperature checks for on-site attendees, exhibitors and venue staff; increased sanitation and cleaning regimen, including an increased number of sanitizing stations; and traffic flow patterns to support proper crowd density.
Printing United, newly formed from the SGIA and PIA merger, has developed several resources for the printing industry on COVID-19, including the COVID-19 Resource Channel, a dedicated “COVID-19: Ask the Experts” webinar series, financial and legislative support and resources for reopening businesses.
