Artist’s illustration comes to life with Drytac ReTac, printed by Boylan Imaging

Based in Medicine Hat, Alta., Boylan Imaging is a professional printing business that provides photography, digital and wide-format printing services to a range of customers, from large commercial clients to smaller personal projects. This summer Boylan Imaging was contacted by artist and graphic designer Matilda van der Walt, who had received an order to turn one of her paintings into wallpaper.

A regular user of Drytac ReTac, Boylan Imaging chose the polymeric removable vinyl to deliver the project for van der Walt.

“We use the ReTac for a lot of projects,” John Boylan, Owner and Manager of Boylan Imaging, says. “Anyone can work with this product as it doesn’t have to be professionally installed, and the wallpaper project for Hello It’s Matilda went very smoothly.

“In fact the artist really had no idea how easy it was to print her work large-scale and had never done this in the past, so it has definitely sparked new creativity for her and her client.”

Posting as @hello.itsmatilda, the artist took to Instagram to share photos of her original botanical work, the installation of the wall covering and the colourful finished project.

In business for 21 years, Boylan Imaging relies on several Drytac products for its work including Emerytex laminating film and Multitac adhesive for a number of mounting purposes and Printable Eclipse PET film for trade show displays.
