In loving memory of Rickey Murray Haas, formerly of Richmond Hill (born/raised), who passed away peacefully, and on his own terms, following a courageous battle with ALS at the age of 69.
We held a special “Celebration of Life” where Rick was surrounded by beloved family & friends at his home in Grand Bend on Friday, July 30, 2021.
Loving husband of Katherine Ann Haas, amazing dad to his beautiful daughter, Darryl Jessica Ann Haas, her partner Jonathan McNeill, and cherished ‘poppie’ to his grandson, Quinn, who he adored. Special son-in-law to Terrance and Ruth Green, and the caring son to the late Murray Gordon Haas (2003) and Mary Viola Haas (2020).
Rick is remembered with love and fond memories by the Green and Osborne families. Rick will also be deeply missed by his two favourite furry companions, Zena and Oskar.
Rick was known for his tenacious attitude, witty and sarcastic sense of humour, his vibrant personality and generous heart. His passions included rock-n-roll classics and oldies music, cars, crime novels, vacationing in Florida and his favourite cocktail ‘Rye and Coke’. Friday night ‘spaghetti night’ will forever remain a tradition in the Haas home, and we will smile and think of happy memories enjoying Rick’s signature sauce.
Pastor Frank Struth officiated a prayer for Rick.
At Rick’s request, cremation will take place.
In lieu of flowers or cards, you may choose to make a charitable donation in Rick’s honour to either “The Canadian Dachshund Rescue”, ALS Society of Canada or charity of your choosing.
Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood.
