Commercial printer L’Imprimerie Moderne de Beauce, operating just south of Quebec City for more than 70 years, has added a Roland R305L press to its production floor, with the help of manroland technicians.
After purchasing the used Roland R305L press, L’Imprimerie Moderne completed the installation by hiring two manroland Canada technicians, Steve Bush and Joe Michaels, and asking a third, Jean Laberge, to help out after he recently retired as a manroland press demonstrator. Bush provided the electrical work while Michaels performed mechanical needs for the installation.
This particular R305L is one of the last presses built from that model line and is, therefore, quite modern with hydraulic braking for drive smoothing, among other new features, and the ability to hit a top speed of 16,000 impressions per hour.
L’Imprimerie Moderne de Beauce, translated into English as Beauce Modern Printing, has been under the leadership of Pierre Verreault since 1980. Verreault has grown the company’s services beyond offset production to also include online-print ordering, prepress, toner-based output, and a myriad of finishing services from perfect binding and saddle stitching to mailing. In addition to ISO 9001-2000, the company also has FSC and SFI certification.
