Lorpon Labels doubles capacity with HP Indigo 6900
December 9, 2020 By PrintAction Staff
Lorpon Labels, a Toronto-based converter, recently installed a new HP Indigo 6900 Digital Press, a move which it says has doubled its digital label production capacity. The converter currently also operates an HP Indigo WS6800 and flexo presses.
Lorpon Labels supplies to the wine and spirits, beverage, beer, food and cosmetics industries. Since the start of the pandemic, the company says it has experienced nearly a 70 per cent increase in orders as food suppliers work to restock store shelves.
“COVID-19 brought unexpected demand for labels. The addition of another press gives us flexibility and allows us to continue to deliver fast turnaround times in a period of dynamic supply chains,” said Jeff Sommer, VP business development.
The HP Indigo 6900 supports the HP Production Pro for Labels and Packaging print server for high productivity, variable data processing and colour matching. The digital front end offers up to five times faster RIP power for faster turnaround. It can match roto-gravure while delivering quality print registration. The HP Indigo 6900 is able to print on textured wine papers and special substrates such as metallic and wood veneer.
