Monadnock adds Hemp Envi Performance Board to alternative fiber offerings
October 1, 2020 By PrintAction Staff
Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc., the oldest continuously operating paper mill in the United States, has announced the expansion of its alternative fiber product line with Monadnock Hemp Envi Performance Board.
The tree-free bright white premium board was developed with a continued focus on both performance and sustainability. The recyclable board is crafted in the United States, is FSC-certified and composed of 30 per cent hemp fiber and 70 per cent post-consumer waste recycled fiber.
“Hemp is an exceptionally strong agricultural fiber that has been used in papermaking for centuries, so who better than our 200-year old company to reimagine its use for the needs of 21st-century brands,” said Julie Brannen, director, Sustainability Solutions, Monadnock.
Hemp Envi is the latest addition to Monadnock’s Envi Performance Board collection, which offers premium alternatives to commodity board. This type of material is growing in popularity with the world’s leading brands as they look to meet the challenges of more sustainable packaging offerings.
Available uncoated, single (C1S) or two-side (C2S) coated, Hemp Envi can be used for a wide range of lifestyle and luxury packaging applications, including cosmetics, fragrances, wine and spirits, fashion accessories, health and wellness, jewelry and watches, tech and entertainment, nutraceuticals, CBD and cannabis.
Hemp Envi is engineered to deliver high print fidelity, exceptional folding characteristics with full ink coverage, and was designed to provide an excellent base for embossing and foil-stamping. The 18-pt. board is available in 28X40 sheets for immediate delivery. Custom calipers and weights are available by request.
