Inkmaker reopens its plant in Torino, Italy

The Italian operations of ink control and dispensing equipment specialist Inkmaker has reopened its doors for business after closing its headquarters and factory in Torino, northern Italy, for ten days at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company had the option of staying open due to its involvement with essential industries such as food and pharmaceutical packaging, but decided to close for a short period to evaluate and prepare its own measures to guarantee a safe working environment for its team, in addition to those imposed by the Italian government.

The new measures saw a revision to the layout and workflow of the company’s plant, ensuring the health and safety of all the team involved. The company has also calculated and arranged all personal protective equipment PPE required in order to be distributed on time from Inkmaker base in Shanghai.

“I speak for the board when I say, we are extremely proud to see the speed in which the Inkmaker team calmly came together in creating and activating an emergency plan; from different parts of the world, to ensure that when we would reopen, it would be a safe environment to do so,” Christophe Rizzo, CEO EMEA/Americas, Inkmaker Group, said in a statement. “With Inkmaker Shanghai now open too, we are confident it can be ‘business as usual.'”
