Ontario printer elected as first Canadian director of NPSOA board

February 23, 2024  By PrintAction Staff

David Dawson, owner of Instant Print and Promo of Chatham, Ont., is elected as a director at large of the National Print and Sign Owners Association (NPSOA) board.

Dawson, 52, was born and raised in Tilbury, Ont., a rural community about an hour northeast of Detroit. He attended the University of Waterloo and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. Like many NPSOA members, Dawson is a second-generation print owner. His father started the business in 1978.

“Being a print owner wasn’t a ‘longtime dream,’ but when I graduated, an opportunity came up within the business. I took a little while, but I now love the business and the industry and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else,” said Dawson, who makes history becoming the first director from Canada to serve on the NPSOA board.

“David brings considerable expertise to the board and is a regular participant in NPSOA’s think tanks and national conferences,” added Nathaniel Grant, NPSOA’s chair. “He will bring a fresh perspective and undoubtedly many new ideas.”
